Brackets are bonded to teeth and wires engaged in a single appointment (90 minutes). For aligners, your custom trays are delivered with instructions — you start treatment immediately.
Day 1 of active treatmentBraces: every 4–6 weeks for wire changes and progress checks. Aligners: every 6–10 weeks to review progress and collect next sets of trays. Adjustments are quick — 20–30 minutes per visit.
Brackets are debonded painlessly. Teeth are polished and final photographs taken. For aligners, the last tray is worn until retention begins.

Expect mild soreness for 3–5 days after fitting and each adjustment — manageable with paracetamol or ibuprofen. After the first month, most patients adjust well. Clear aligners cause less discomfort than braces overall, with a slight pressure sensation when each new tray is worn.
Ages 12–18 are ideal as the jaw is still developing, making tooth movement faster. However, adult orthodontics achieves excellent results at any age — teeth move regardless of age when force is applied correctly. We also assess children from age 7 for early interceptive treatment.
